Dr. Mark F. McCombe is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and retinal specialist in the Vitreoretinal Surgical and Medical Retinal clinics at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

He has specialist expertise in treating Macular Degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal vein occlusions,and other retinal disorders. This is done using Laser and via Intravitreal injections such as Lucentis or Eyelea.

Dr. McCombe performs retinal and vitrectomy surgery for retinal detachments, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, and other vitreoretinal conditions.

He also consults in East Melbourne, at Melbourne Retina Associates (ph: 03 9650 5771). Dr McCombe is currently Clinical Director of Ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Dr Mark F. McCombe studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and St Vincent’s Hospital. He obtained his post graduate qualification in ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. After completing specialist training he undertook fellowships in diseases and surgery of the retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
